An irrelevant Amplitude-Phase (AP) algorithm is used in raw data compression according to the bulky raw data of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(INSAR) system. The new algorithm is based on the statistical property and the high correlation between the two channels of INSAR. Amplitude and phase of raw data are compressed irrelevantly. Detail analysis in theory is given and experiment with real data is undertaken. Comparisons are made with BAQ algorithm at aspects of correlation, fringe similarity index and residuals. The results show that AP algorithm is superior to BAQ algorithm at the same reduction ratio. Thereby AP algorithm preserves more information of amplitude and phase.
